Highlighting works from across Wayne Thiebaud’s six-decade career, this exhibition features his inventive reinterpretations and direct copies of famous artworks, as well as objects from his personal art collection that inspired him. The entry court sets up these direct copies and personal art collection as an “artist’s studio”. Upon entering the main galleries, his distinctive use of green-orange outlines and shadows rendered in hues of blue is introduced as a continuous design element and a complement to works of various themes organized chronologically.
